Ross Tipon, a journalist based in Baguio City was involved in a controversy with the Church/family-business (it is after all a Corporation SOLE) of Felix Manalo, the so-called "Iglesya Ni Cristo", founded in 1914. The controversy was due to a book he was intending to write "The Power and the Glory: The Cult of Manalo." The INC sought to have a restraining order on the writing of the book.
