Can You Help Me Promote This Site?

Posted by joaquin in Blogs on Saturday, September 17. 2005 02:27
Received today in an email

Dear Jake

I was hoping you can help me with this.
I am writing for a paid blogging network where I get a cent per read. But I can only be read by people who are members of the same network. I have been doing this for two years and it helps me pay for the costs of my web apostolate. Could you please help me promote the network so that I can get more readers and also to get USD 20 on the side? Every member that registers to the network through me helps me get USD 20. It won't make me rich, but it sure will lift a lot of financial burdens on my shoulder.
Thank you.

That was old Friar__Tuck who maintains the religious themed information website at AngFrayle. I've seen their family website and his organization's website go down this year because he could not maintain the cost of paying webserver and web maintenance services. I'd love to help the old man. Please click on the links below if you are interested to be a member of Blogit:

It won't make my friend grow rich, but it will be a lot of help to him in his work.

Philosophy Is For The Birds

Posted by joaquin in Blogs at 00:13
This is the reason why I will never get into philosophical discussions. When I got into the web in the first place it was to read and understand, not to explain things. Philosophy is not just my game.

Sic Igitur Up Once More!

Posted by joaquin in Blogs at 21:20
Two days. Two days of worrying whether my account at SicIgitur has been cancelled. It turned out that it wasn't. The MySQL server went down and so all our blog sites were not accessible. I even had to open up a blog to make my announcement. But it turned out well, I guess. I can sympathize with WorldFreeWeb's admin. It must be tough running a webhosting service as popular as his. It is after all 1 Gig FREE hosting with CPanel and Fantastico. Sooner or later, something's got to give. And it did. But the service is up and everyone is happy. And so am I. Now, I can sleep.

NucleusCMS

Posted by joaquin in Geeky at 00:55
My blog at Sic Igitur is taking a lot of my time these days. Perhaps it is the CMS I am using there. It is called Nucleus. It is easy to learn how to do certain things with it since I have a root account with the server. Currently, I have three blogs going on there. One is for taking notes, the other is for my thoughts on religion and the other is simply for my rants and raves. This blog is of course for my journalizing." JLatroia has her own blog going there too. But I think that with her emergency trip to Iloilo, she won't be able to post much there during these days. There are many different web publishing applications on the web and each have their plus and minuses. I'd like to see the insides of this Serendipity application though, just to see how it can be customized.

Work At The Weblab

Posted by joaquin at 21:51
The worked the whole day on the installations at Sic Igitur. Two Drupal sites were set aside for the WebFriar and now that they're up and running, I can now go to other things. Jeni wasn't much of a help, though. She kept teasing me with her creamy legs. YeGAD! I won't have her with me again while I am doing some job. Her journal is going well though. Too bad she is leaving tomorrow for Iloilo and won't be back until next week. Some kind of emergency... Anyhoo, it is getting late. I wanted to post something at my new spiritual blog site but I just couldn't get the proper inspiration...

FreeWH and Craig has just set up his Alang Tulog INC -- Nuke powered website.

This really makes me wonder. How come there are so many of these again?...

Love For The Scriptures

Only someone who has both love for the Scriptures and for the Internet will do something like this. Who would think, for example, that the same guy who creates a bible workshop website is also the same one who educates other people about the web?

Work At The WebLab et alia

Posted by joaquin in Links at 11:18
CCraig noticed the new Web Lab. Yeah, it was rough working on it, especially since I had to figure out first what Fantastico does. I got it running however after some time. I won't be able to work on it until Saturday, though. Right now I have to prepare some papers for my next trip, hopefully. The URL bibelwerks.d0x.de looked like d-letter "O"-x until I noticed that it was actually d-number zero-x. No wonder I was getting 404's. Anyhow, it is a cool URL. I must get one for this blog.

World Free Web

Posted by joaquin in Links at 09:33
I just signed up for a free PHP-powered website at WorldFreeWeb. Except for the large advertising banners, the service offered is excellent. One gets with the free package some PHP and CGI scripts and a Fantastico installation. And then the space given is 1000 MB. I am going to make use of the website for storing some of the webpages I have at Geocities.. Since the account can also be accessed via anonymous FTP login, I think I might offer it as a file download website to a friend.

PlaceOPedia

Posted by joaquin in Links at 02:22
CelesteA brings news of a website that associates places in the WikiPedia to a map database. The website is called -- obviously enough -- PlaceOPedia. It is a collaborative website, so you can help them build up the information they want. The information I got this from is found here.
